Government Announces Hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices

The federal government has raised the prices of petroleum products, as stated in a recent finance ministry notification. Petrol prices are up by Rs. 4.53, reaching Rs. 293.94 per liter, and high-speed diesel prices have increased by Rs. 8.14, now priced at Rs. 290.38 per liter.

This update follows the previous adjustment on March 31, where petrol prices rose by Rs. 9.66 per liter, but high-speed diesel prices were reduced by Rs. 3.32 per liter.

Currently, the government imposes a petroleum levy of Rs. 60 per liter on both petrol and high-speed diesel, which is the legal maximum.
