Lahore High Court Directs Re-Registration of Private Schools

The Lahore High Court has ordered the re-registration of private schools and has directed them to procure buses for student transportation. Justice Shahid Karim issued a written order subsequent to the hearing of petitions related to the environment.

In addition, the court has specifically instructed the School Education Department to facilitate the re-registration process for private schools. Moreover, private schools are required to obtain buses for the transportation of students. These buses are intended to serve 50 percent of the students commuting between their homes and schools.

The order highlighted that the directive to procure buses for private schools was issued by the school education department two years ago. However, the department has failed to enforce this directive.

Furthermore, the Lahore High Court has intervened in the plantation activities on the Islamabad-Lahore motorway. The court has restrained the relevant officials from planting palm trees. It was also mentioned that Member Judicial informed the court about the initiation of a campaign to plant trees on rooftops.
