Under the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), Pakistan has welcomed a substantial influx of modern agricultural machinery from China through the Khunjerab Pass. This initiative aims at enhancing the irrigation technologies within the country.
The delivered equipment encompasses a range of tools including 20 tractors, state-of-the-art drip and hose reel irrigation systems, along with satellite and drone-based technologies for farm management. Additionally, it introduces sophisticated agricultural platforms and devices designed to incorporate the Internet of Things (IoT) into agricultural processes.
The journey of this equipment began in China, covering a distance of 5800 kilometers to arrive in Pakistan, and it will cover an additional 1500 kilometers to reach its destination in Cholistan. This endeavor is expected to drive progress and development in Pakistan by integrating these advanced agricultural technologies into the sector.
