In Punjab, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the introduction of the “Chief Minister Roshan Gharana” program.

- 50,000 solar systems will be distributed in Punjab as part of the program.
- The Chief Minister instructed officials to promptly install one-kilowatt solar systems.
- Emphasis was placed on the use of advanced solar technology.
- In the initial phase, Rs 12.6 billion will be allocated for providing solar systems to 50,000 protected consumers through a balloting process.
- Each system will include advanced solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other necessary components.
Notable attendees at the meeting included Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Former Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman of Planning and Development, Secretaries from Energy and Finance departments, Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Power Development Company (PPDCL), Managing Director of Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB), and other officials.
Since assuming office as the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz has initiated various projects for public welfare. Recently, she approved the launch of the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” project, aimed at constructing over three thousand houses for low-income families in each district of Punjab.
